The Next Station

As if creating a fully 3D chess game that involves sex wasn't enough, "erotic" game developer Artmunk is now working on its next project, tentatively titled The Next Station. The game takes place on a '30s luxury train which doesn't let you travel from location to location. Rather, it lets players travel between the "boundaries of your inner desires". Art of Love caught up with Auke Veenstra, lead designer of the Lovechess series to see if they could get him to shed some light on this upcoming title.
What’s the theme of the game, and what’s the name when it’s released?
The name we keep secret for a while, mainly to protect it from copying and registering, we’re still in the process of claiming the name worldwide. The game is set in the thirties of the past century, the time of the great luxury trains, like the Orient express. We use the train as a metaphor, a vehicle to travel along your own erotic fantasies and desires. An other important aspect in this title is the dream. Most people, I guess all people, dream about things they would like to do, but don’t do in real life. To visualize this we made a dream world with an overall surrealistic atmosphere.
Sound intriguing? You bet. It doesn't stop there, though. Veenstra goes on to emphasize that the team is working to give players complete control over sexual scenarios, including body language, stimuli, response etc. Sounds like they're working really hard to make sure this beats Sexy Beach into the ground. I'm not complaining.
