The Madden Curse

You have to see this. Have you guys heard of the "Madden Curse"? Here's a quote from the Wikipedia entry on it:
The Madden Curse, also known as the Madden Cover Curse, is a myth involving the video game series Madden NFL, stating that the season a player appears on the cover of Madden NFL, that player will be cursed with either an injury or poor performance.
Sound crazy, doesn't it? But apparently, gamers and journalists aren't the only ones who believe in this curse. Considering its track record, it isn't surprising that EA thinks they're jinxed, too. Of course, that doesn't keep them from trying to re-assure their consumers, all the while biting their nails off camera.
However, yesterday the company spoke out to reassure fans of the Tennessee Titans that its most recent cover star, Vince Young, will be just fine. Joking to 1UP.com, EA Tiburon’s Director of Marketing, Chris Erb, said:
"We’re trying to go with a really young, healthy guy who’s not going to get hurt.” He went on to comment that, “The jinx thing bites us every year. I haven’t told this to people, but I’ve got a bottle of champagne in my office that we’re ready to pop once someone breaks the curse. And we’re hoping Vince has a tremendous year, and will be that guy, because that’s the best story for us.”

Is that why they put that gray guy on the cover now?
