Heavenly Sword producer talks Heavenly Sword

Ahh, Heavenly Sword. One of the few announced PS3 games that everyone seems to be looking forward to this year. While the E3 demo made most wet their pants with its slick visuals and the mindblowing combat system, we know close to nothing about the game, except that it bears a striking resemblance to the Dynasty Warriors games as far as battles are concerned.
PSU has managed to bag an interesting interview with SCEA's Kyle Shubel, producer of Heavenly Sword. Kyle talks a bit about the look of the game and how the development team plans to make it stand out from similar titles like Dynasty Warriors and even the God of War games, and also sheds a bit of light on the more technical aspects of the game.
Kyle Shubel: While it is quite an honor to be compared to both God of War and Dynasty Warriors, I think that Heavenly Sword will 'cut its own niche' with our robust combat system, amazing environments, and narrative experience. The 'in game cinematics' were all motion captured and recorded at the cutting edge WETA facilities in New Zealand using technology more advanced, in more detail, with more cameras, than "Lord of the Rings" and "King Kong" which were also filmed at WETA. I think that we are truly entering the "Next Generation".
He goes on to mention that the game runs at 30 FPS at 720p, which is cool (although, considering this is a PS3 game, most people would expect 1080p from it). There's also mention of the game's totally kickass-sounding combat system, which apparently enables you attack your enemies with everything from weapons you steal from them to fruits and fruit bowls you find lying around. Oh, and a bazooka, which I think is really weird, given the setting of the game.
Oh well, it still sounds awesome. Personally, I can't wait to score unofficial headshots with a bowl of apples. Heavenly Sword is currently dated for Fall '07, but no specific date has been decided on yet.
