Death Note Dub Cast Announced
Anime on DVD reports that Viz Media has finally announced the cast line-up for of the voice talent for their English dub of Death Note.
The dub will be produced by The Ocean Group in British Colombia, who did the ADR work for most of the Gundam series, Ranma ½ and Inuyasha, so you can expect most of the actors listed to have done voice work on these shows. Looking at the list of announced actors, quite a few seem to have worked on the Black Lagoon dub as well.
The main protagonist, Light Yagami, will be voiced by Brad Swaile. Previous works include Amuro Ray from Gundam and Rock from Black Lagoon. The famous antagonist of Death Note, L, will be voiced by Alessandro Juliani who is a cast member on Sci-Fi's Battlestar Galactica (also produced in British Columbia).

Aside from the few episodes of Inuyasha I've seen, I've never really experienced any of these voice actors' work so I can't provide any commentary on how good I would expect this dub to be. I will say this though: I was not impressed with the original teaser trailer Viz put out for the dub a few months back.
Other details of interest include the suspected release date and prices. We have two editions; your typical Standard and Limited editions with prices set at $25 and $40 respectively. Both include the first four episodes.
I love Death Note, but I don't love it enough to pay $10 an episode, even if it does come with a Ryuk figurine. If you do want the Limited edition, they are only making 15,000 of them, so pre-order as soon as possible.
