The adventure revival continues: Capucine for Wii

Man, I have to say, I am loving what the DS/Wii combination is doing for adventure games. Considering adventure games rely heavily on thinking, personality and most importantly story, it's a pity the genre has been ignored by game developers for so long.
However, ever since Cing's success with Hotel Dusk: Room 215 on the DS, adventure fans have been clamouring for more. And now, developers are finally starting to react to the rising demand for more adventure titles.
One unnamed (as of this post) French studio seems to be no different. Not willing to reveal too much information just yet, they have set their upcoming Wii game's official site live and provide some intriguing information about what the game will be like.
Titled Capucine, the game "is an exploration / adventure game, formulated as a tale and based on shadow and light opposition."
This game takes place in a fantastic universe where everything is dead. The player controls a child who holds a “capucine”. This flower enables her to survive in this desolated world. The little girl can hand on her own life to the surroundings thanks to a beam of light she can cast from her hand. To maintain life, water will be vital. However, the player must be careful not to animate the shadows of the surrounding elements. Indeed, animated shadows will try to steal the flower in order to prevent the child from accomplishing her destiny: revive the World.
An eerie adventure game where you play a girl who's trying to revive the world? That sounds extremely interesting, and very different from the kind of game you'd usually see on the Wii. The site says the game is aimed at young adults and "adults interested in tales", so I'd expect the game to get a "T" rating.
The site is also brimming with all kinds of media and goodies (each in their respective sections) that give you a better idea of what to expect from this game overall. From what I've seen so far, the concept sounds incredible, and is enough to keep me cautiously optimistic. Very optimistic. If enough effort is put into the title, Capucine could be one of the best looking games on the Wii, judging by the screenshots.

This game is developped by a student team of supinfogame (a french computer game school).
This is excellent, you can't get enough adventures on the DS the damn thing seems to be made for them and can be enjoyed in 5 minute bursts or 5 hour marathons.
I hope that the low entry price for a full dev kit we'll start to see more of these grass roots, original, risky and hopefully truly tasty games appearing more commonly on the Wii.
oh and with rumours of a new Monkey Island on the books I can only hope they decide to muli-format that to death and we get a version on the DS.
