Blizzard confirms new project announcement
Kotaku managed to get in touch with Blizzard regarding the rumours of a 3D StarCraft 2 announcement, which stemmed from Korea. While they didn't confirm whether or not it was going to be related to StarCraft 2, Blizz did confirm that they would be announcing a new title next month.
We do intend to announce a new product at the Worldwide Invitational next month in Korea, and we appreciate the enthusiasm and interest in getting an advance look at what that will be, but players will have to wait until May 19th to find out more. Also, we have a very strong connection with the characters and settings of StarCraft, and we do plan to revisit that universe at some point in the future, but we don't have anything new to announce in that regard at present.
Who does Blizz think they're kidding? Come on, guys. The announcement's being made in Korea. Obviously it's StarCraft. I mean, what else do the Koreans care about that Blizzard has to offer? (Note: If it turns out to be some sort of Korean WarCraft-related thing, I will shoot someone)
In the mean time, I'd highly recommend checking this out. It's a group of amateur developers creating a StarCraft total conversion mod for WarCraft III. If the original StarCraft in 3D doesn't sound awesome to you, go burn yourself. I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping they don't receive a cease-and-desist from Blizzard before the project is completed.

I foresee a slight dip in Korea's economy, in the near future.
Maybe we can send them some "poodles" to help the cash flow.
I say we start calling them "ugly".
Also, my bets are on Starcraft 2. If not that though, maybe a resurrection of Starcraft: Ghost? Or possible a Diablo 3 announcement?

Hmm. I'd say it's a little too early for a Diablo 3 announcement, but you never know. And it had better fucking not be StarCraft: Ghost. I refuse to have waited this long for a three-year old game announcement!
Oh, and I really will have some pretty foul things to say if Blizzard cranks out another WarCraft game any time soon.
